LAKE ALMANOR AREA, Calif. — October 31, 2026. Small businesses around Lake Almanor are preparing a two-day holiday shopping tradition that encourages people to explore mountain communities, support independent shops and discover local gifts.
The regional tourism organization Visit Plumas County lists the Lake Almanor Area Holiday Shopping Tour for Friday and Saturday, November 13–14, 2026. Its event guide features businesses in and around Chester and Lake Almanor, as well as participating communities in Indian Valley and nearby areas.
How the holiday passport works
Visitors can pick up a booklet-style Holiday Passport at a participating business, visit shops and collect stamps. The organizer specifically says no purchase is necessary to receive a passport stamp. Completed passports can be submitted for a chance at prizes donated by businesses, subject to the official passport’s entry and submission rules.
What shoppers may find
The event highlights local boutiques, artwork, home decorations, handmade goods, specialty foods and other seasonal merchandise. This is not one single market at one address: the tour involves multiple businesses in different communities, so participants should plan their stops carefully.
The tourism site includes a list of local stores and places to eat, but each business determines its own hours and inventory. Visitors should consult the official event page and ask participating businesses about accessibility, individual schedules and the final passport drop-off instructions.
